Kristen Linroth has been playing the harp since 2002. She decided to play the harp at seven years old after hearing and seeing a beautiful harpist at a restaurant. Quickly she discovered her love for the instrument and has grown to become an accomplished musician. Kristen has had the pleasure of playing with the Niwot High School Symphonic Orchestra from 2009-2011 as well as the prestigious Western States Honor Orchestra in 2010. In 2011, the Niwot High School Orchestra was one of ten high schools in the nation invited to perform in the National Orchestra Cup Competition at Lincoln Center in New York. Performing in that venue was an experience not soon forgotten. The Western States Honor Orchestra was a weekend audition-only performance consisting of talented musicians chosen from four different states. They performed La Forza del Destino, an opera by Giusuppe Verdi widely considered one of the most difficult orchestral compositions, particularly for harpists. Kristen has also given many solo performances, including at La Vita Bella Coffee Shop (where you can hear her again on August 16 and October 25), Boulder Manor, and the Timberline Lodge Assisted Living Center.
